White House physician says he is experiencing “virus rebound.”
After having emerged free of COVID last week, President Biden tested positive again over the weekend as part of what his doctors are calling a “virus rebound.” Although he has no reemergence of symptoms, the physician to the president Dr. Kevin O’Connor, said his doctors will not restart medical treatment. Nonetheless, the president said he has returned to isolation.
President Biden stated, “Folks, today I tested positive for COVID again. This happens with a small minority of folks. I’ve got no symptoms but am going to isolate for the safety of everyone around me. I’m sill at work and will be back on the road soon.”
COVID patients who have been treated with Paxlovid sometimes experience the rebounds, Dr. O’Connor said. Paxlovid is an at-home antiviral therapy for those at higher risk for severe illness from COVID-19. The president, 79, was at risk because of his age. He has been vaccinated and boosted against the virus. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention advises that people who test positive for COVID-19 again after taking the drug Paxlovid should isolate for another five days.
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For healing for the president as he again tested positive for COVID.
- For the president as he returns to working remotely and virtually.
- With gratitude to God that the coronavirus continues to weaken and become less dangerous.
